Hello to you all!
I am starting this blog for me to post my thoughts and feelings and to keep a record of our everyday life here on our little farm in Custer County Nebraska! I love the farm life and being a mother and a wife. I may not be the best at it but I sure try. One thing I pray is that my husband and kids know how much I love them! I have many interests and love to try new things. I hope anyone that stumbles upon this blog enjoys it and takes it for what it is worth.
I got this wild idea of having a blog one day while mowing so here goes. I have a Facebook account but on there sometimes when I post people can comment and they may not understand what I mean and I don't like all the drama so I figure this way I can post my own thoughts, ideas, feeling, stories, whatever I want and I don't necessarily have to hear or care what anyone thinks.
That may sound like a bad attitude but it isn't, just the truth!
The fact is I love my life! Yes I have bad days and good days but I am truly happy on what I have an have accomplished.
I have a loving husband and 4 wonderful kids. And I am pretty sure that they will never know how much I truly love them even though I tell them everyday!
Since my husband Shannon of almost 8 years & I started dating life has been one wild ride! I am sure I will get into that later. But WOW it has been crazy! We moved to the farm just before our first anniversary and I love it.
One thing I love about the farm is mowing. Shannon got me a John Deere riding lawn mower and I have to mow about once a week to keep up. I love it and we take a lot of pride in our yard. I have also been know to mow while wearing a tube top. I like to keep my tan lines evened out! :o) I don't care that I don't have a super model body that every one thinks you should have, I live 12 miles from the nearest town. However, I swear when I am mowing in that tube top it seems to become Grand Central Station out here! It is either my every judging father in law, the UPS man, a sales man, a passerby that is lost, etc... One day I was mowing away and all these cars started pulling in. They would pull in and turn around and drive away. I was getting embarrassed and thinking " Holy Crap! Do I really look that bad?" When I happened to turn around and look up and see they were burning the pasture behind our house! Then I felt good to know that at least people would come help if my house was on fire!
How I got the idea for the blog is while mowing I have a lot of time to think. One day while a car was pulling in while I was Mowing in my tube top I thought that why is it no one shows up til now? And then it hit me how that kind of sums up our life! It doesn't matter how hard you plan or how sneaky you are God has a plan and is the drivers seat. Don't try to second guess and get ahead of him. All you can do is pull up that tube top and keep on going!
I hope you all like this blog if you find it! I am going to use it as a vent for myself. I have many hobbies and interests and I hope this is a fun creative outlet for me. Every one tells me with all of our adventures that I should write a book, So for now this will have to do. I really don't know where this will take me and I don't care, but as I sit here now I can imagine there will be days I am crying and some that I am laughing. I have been known to even get a little testy so I guess hold on and read on and enjoy this ride.
The picture is of Kayley and I mowing our yard when she was only 8 months old. I thought it was appropriate to put a picture of me mowing with the first post and you are all lucky that I am not wearing a tube top! But this is how I look otherwise while mowing. Visor on, sunglasses-check! And I am good to go! Minus the kid strapped to me! She is now 6 and a half and about 60 pounds! LOL!
